Berth Attendant

LOH CHWEE CHEW MOORING SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Berth Attendant to manage critical maritime operations on Jurong Island. This Permanent, Full Time role is essential for the safe arrival and departure of vessels in one of Singapore’s busiest industrial hubs.

Key Responsibilities

The role is focused on heavy-duty marine logistics and operational safety:

Mooring Operations: Coordinate and execute the securing and releasing of vessels at the berth. This includes the physical handling of heavy mooring lines.
Equipment Oversight: Supervise the connection and disconnection of essential berthing equipment, such as loading arms and gangways, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
Vigilance & Communication: Monitor operations for safety hazards and maintain clear communication with vessel crews, pilots, and port operational teams.
Maintenance & Readiness: Assist with routine inspections of the berth and perform standby duties to provide immediate assistance during berthing windows.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Experience: Requires 1 year of experience, with a preference for candidates who have worked in marine or port operations previously.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of mooring and berthing procedures is required.
Physicality: Must be physically fit to handle manual mooring operations and comfortable working in an outdoor, industrial environment.
Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to function effectively within a team.

Working Hours & Location

Location: Candidates must be willing to work on Jurong Island.
Schedule: Must be available for shift work, which includes weekends and public holidays.
