Electrical Technician

SEA FORREST ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking an Electrical Technician to handle the inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems at their Penjuru Lane facility and in shipyards. This Permanent, Full Time executive role is critical for ensuring maritime electrical systems meet rigorous safety and certification standards.

Key Responsibilities

The role is split between hands-on technical work and workshop management:

1. Electrical Systems & Commissioning

  • Inspection & Testing: Inspect electrical panels and systems to resolve malfunctions and conduct regular tests for safety compliance.

  • Shipyard Coordination: Coordinate with shipyards for the installation and commissioning of panels, ensuring they pass class surveys and inspections.

  • Documentation: Produce wiring diagrams, system configurations, and paperwork required for official class certifications.

2. Workshop & Inventory Management

  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of workshop items, monitor stock levels, and conduct regular checks for discrepancies.

  • Logistics: Manage the receiving and dispatch of materials, verifying items against purchase orders and ensuring proper packaging.

  • Storage Optimization: Implement efficient storage systems, including labeling and categorizing items for quick retrieval.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical Proficiency: Must be able to read technical drawings and schematics and have experience with terminating central cables.

  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills specifically for Electrical main switchboards and familiarity with diagnostic tools.

  • Experience: Requires 1 year of experience in engineering. Prior experience in a shipyard environment is highly advantageous.

  • Licensing: Possession of a Class 3 Driving License or a WSQ Forklift Operator License is a plus.

Salary & Working Environment

  • Monthly Salary: $2,000 to $2,500.

  • Safety: A strong focus on maintaining a clean, hazard-free workshop and adhering to strict electrical safety protocols.
