Library Assistant at School (no experience required)
CIVICA PTE. LTD., a global software and public services organization, is seeking Library Assistants to manage school libraries across Singapore. This Full Time, Contract role is an entry-level position focused on promoting reading habits and maintaining library excellence within the school community.
Key Responsibilities
A typical day involves a mix of administrative tasks, collection management, and student engagement:

Circulation & Housekeeping: Process book loans and returns, shelve materials according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) standards, and ensure the library is tidy with clear signage.

Collection Maintenance: Catalogue new materials, repair or recondition damaged books, and assist with regular stocktaking and “weeding” of the collection.

Student Interaction: Assist students and teachers with queries, follow up on overdue or lost books, and conduct library programs and activities.

Promotional Work: Create displays and promotional materials that support the school curriculum and library events.

Reporting: Generate regular reports on loans, fines, and other collection-related statistics.
Required Qualifications & Traits

Education: Minimum of 4 GCE ‘O’ Level passes, which must include English.

Experience: No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided, including how to operate the Library System.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements: The role involves physical activity, including stooping, bending, lifting, and reaching to pick up and shelve books.

Soft Skills: Good interpersonal skills and a genuine enjoyment of interacting with students and teachers.
Salary & Benefits
