Data Centre Operator

UNISON CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Data Centre Operator for a government agency project. This Contract role at the Executive level focuses on high-stakes production monitoring, incident management, and the automation of data centre operations.

📋 Key Responsibilities

The candidate will manage the critical infrastructure that keeps large-scale IT systems stable and operational:

Automation & Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate production processes to reduce manual intervention and enhance overall stability and service quality.
Incident Leadership: Chair and drive investigation activities for major incidents. You are accountable for resolving issues through workarounds or permanent solutions and must manage timely communications via an escalation matrix.
Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor critical production metrics and data centre facility health, including temperature, humidity, smoke detection, fire suppression, and UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) units.
Technical Troubleshooting: Perform initial troubleshooting for system and network connectivity problems to resolve issues at the Tier 1 level before escalating.
Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards within the production environment.

🎓 Job Requirements

Experience: Requires at least 5 years of IT experience specifically as a Level 1 Production Operations Engineer.
Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of production system issues and facilities management, including CCTV, keypress units, and environmental monitoring.
Cloud Skills: Familiarity with AWS tools such as CloudWatch and Cloud Trail is considered a significant advantage.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex processes to find areas for optimization and efficiency.
