A full time or part time job opportunity is available at Dona Manis Cake Shop in Singapore. The candidate will perform the duties of a bakery customer service assistant. The candidate will have to work 5 days a week for full time, or 3 to 4 days a week for part time, with shifts starting at 8:00 am. At least one weekend day is required. Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for greeting and welcoming customers as part of the front-of-house team. They will take customer orders, communicate them to the kitchen if necessary, and pack the pastries ready-to-go. The candidate will answer customer questions, key in orders using the POS system, and perform cashiering duties to collect payments. They will check daily inventory, ensure sufficient stock of items, and raise inventory orders when needed. They will also keep the service areas and shop floor clean and organized, and support the back of house when required.
Required qualifications
The candidate is not required to have any formal higher education degree. They must possess a valid WSQ Level 1 Food Safety Handling Certificate. The candidate should be legally eligible to work in Singapore. They must be comfortable working morning shifts starting at 8:00 am and be available to work on at least one weekend day as part of their regular schedule.
Experience needed
This is a fresh and entry level position in the F&B sector. The candidate should ideally have 1 year of working experience. Any type of prior experience in a fast-paced retail or bakery environment will be considered an asset. On the job guidance regarding the specific bakery operations, inventory tracking, and POS system will be provided to the selected candidates.
Skills and competencies
The candidate should have sweet and courteous customer service skills. They should be friendly, efficient, and a strong team player with a warm, helpful attitude. The candidate should have a good command of English, and the ability to speak a second language is considered a plus. They must be good with basic math and comfortable using a POS system. The candidate should be highly organized, with the ability to record daily inventory, report sales, answer phone calls, and handle multiple tasks with ease.
