The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Singapore is looking for a dedicated Animal Care Officer (ACO) to join their team at Sungei Tengah. This Permanent role is vital to the shelter’s mission, focusing on the treatment, daily care, and rehabilitation of animals to prepare them for their “forever homes”.
📋 Key Responsibilities
The ACO manages the daily needs of shelter animals through medical support, hygiene, and social enrichment:

Daily Care & Hygiene: Clean and sanitize animal enclosures to ensure a safe environment. You will be responsible for feeding animals and washing/sterilizing all feeding equipment.

Health Monitoring: Observe animals closely for any signs of disease or injury and report findings to the Shelter Supervisor. You will also perform regular bathing according to the schedule.

Enrichment & Rehabilitation: Deliver exercise and enrichment programs to keep animals mentally and physically stimulated. You will work with the management team to execute specific rehabilitation plans.

Adoption Services: Conduct adoption appointments, screen potential adopters to ensure a good match, and provide post-adoption support to new pet owners.

Operational Support: Complete necessary checklists for shelter management and occasionally assist Animal Rescue Officers with difficult rescue cases.
🎓 Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 1 year of experience is recognized, and prior experience working with animals is an advantage, but not compulsory as entry-level candidates are welcome.

Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit as the role involves manual labor in a semi-outdoor environment.

Skills: Good communication skills in English (written and spoken), meticulous attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
