A full time job opportunity is available at Care Corner Seniors Services Ltd. in Singapore. The candidate will perform the duties of a care staff. There are multiple vacancies for this on-site non-executive job position located in Toa Payoh. The selected candidate will get a salary of $2,800 to $3,000 on a monthly basis. Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the team in monitoring the seniors’ physical and mental health and well-being. They will conduct visual checks, monitor vital signs, and act on clients’ irregular conditions by reporting to supervisors and submitting incident reports where needed. The candidate will plan and lead exercises and activities for the seniors, serve meals, and provide personal care for their routine activities, including assistance with toileting. They will administer medications following SOPs after being trained. They will follow infection control procedures, ensure mobility and transfer safety, and provide support as a transport escort to fetch clients if BCLS-trained.
Required qualifications
The candidate is preferred to possess a Diploma in Healthcare Management or Gerontology, a WSQ Diploma in Social Service, or a WSQ Certificate in Healthcare. Only Singaporeans are eligible to apply for this position. The candidate must be capable of attending to seniors who predominantly speak Mandarin or dialects. The ability to drive is not strictly required but is considered an added advantage.
Experience needed
This is a non-executive level position in the social services sector. The candidate should ideally have a minimum of 1 year of working experience in a healthcare or eldercare setting. Any type of prior experience in community care coordination, nursing, or therapist support will be considered a strong asset. On the job training regarding medication administration and mobility transfer safety will be provided to the selected candidates.
Skills and competencies
The candidate should be passionate and patient in serving the seniors. They must be proficient in Mandarin and/or dialects to effectively communicate with the elderly residents. The candidate should be humble, willing to learn, and a strong team player. They should be self-driven, willing to take on challenges, and able to respond calmly to emergencies and accidents. They should be able to follow safety and hygiene instructions carefully and maintain a professional and empathetic attitude at work.
